We're Pregnant! Part 10

Here's Part 10 of "We're Pregnant!" There are just a few more to come...

Big Shocker

So... the funniest thing... I went to my High Risk Maternal-Fetal Medicine Doctor the other day for some testing and an ultrasound. The ultrasound tech and the Doctor both asked me separately if I wanted to know the sex of the baby and of course I said yes. BOTH declared without a doubt that we are having a BOY!!! I just started giggling stupidly, thinking my Husband is going to be floored! It's not something that I find disappointing, it will just take a moment to wrap my mind around, since now for over a week I've been thinking it's a girl!

So now I can start shopping and arranging the nursery! I actually bought some yard and thought I would try my hand at knitting or crocheting. I used to do both, but I haven't done either in YEARS! I'll let you know how it goes... As for shopping, how does a first-time Mom know what to buy (you know, besides the cute stuff)??? So far I've been told that Pack 'N Plays and baby slings (how cool are these?!) are absolutely vital. I'm off to shop...!

We're Pregnant! Part 9

I don't know what happened to Part 8. That was kind of weird, but I've replaced it, and hope it stays replaced!

So I'm very excited today... I had a Doctor's appointment yesterday and she said as far as she can tell (leaving a little room for error, I guess) we will be having a baby GIRL!!! I hate to admit it, but for whatever reason this is what we both really, really wanted. Everyone was telling me otherwise. Everyone. But I couldn't wrap my mind around anything else. I have another ultrasound next week at the specialist. If he tells me it's a girl, then I'll start shopping. Until then, I'm still holding my breath, but so, so, so happy!!!

Now here's my favorite part of visiting the Doctor's office: Part 9! That miserable, dreaded scale.

Webhosting

I know I've mentionned this a couple times in my blog, but I'm going to mention it again. I have had multiple websites over the years, including a couple Digital Scrapbooking sites. I have had several unhappy experiences, so I feel really strongly about this. After hearing of another friend's bad experience with webhosting, I thought I would reiterate my thoughts on this matter and hope that if anyone who reads this blog is interested in starting a website, they will learn something. The webhosting you choose is so, so, so important! It's not exagerating to say that it will dictate your entire experience.

There are ways to educate yourself and to avoid disasterous mistakes. One of the best ways to do this is to do side by side comparisons of each hosting company's features and to consider other customers' experiences through reviews. In my experience, I have found these reviews to be honest, unbiased and very helpful. Take the time to research - it is worth it in the end. Don't be so excited to get your website up and running that you pass over one of the most important parts of your website! And finally, best of luck in your indeavors. If this is something that you are working on, I wish you all success!

We're Pregnant! Part 8

I know, right! FINALLY! The girl pulls herself together enough to get something done! I'm actually gearing up for a whole day of getting stuff done - I've got to clean the house, bake some cupcakes and a pie, and get ready for "Girls' Night In!" For the past while, every couple of months I've been having The Girls over for an evening - just to relax, drink wine and chat. I love, love, love it! So here's the next installation of "We're Pregnant!" Enjoy!

Beds and Selling

It's a beautiful day out (I've given up trying to figure out Texas weather!) and I am stuck at home waiting for a mattress delivery. Don't you just love when they tell you "We'll be there between 12:45 and 6:45." Seriously?! With my luck it will be 6:45, too! I am excited about it, though... I had bought a beautiful, beautiful bed with four poster pillars. I had this idea in my head of exactly what I wanted and I was not going to settle for something different. After looking and looking at hundreds of beds, I finally found exactly the one that I wanted about a year ago. I then proceeded to do absolutely nothing to set up the room. Procrastination Queen. So now that we need to make room for the baby, we're getting all organized and fixing up the master bedroom (finally!). We went out a week ago and found a mattress that we liked - my dear, silly husband wanted to know why we couldn't just order one online! Haha! I had him rolling in them in the store. This is a big purchase and you have to be comfy, right?! So now I'm waiting...

I wanted to answer a few commenters' questions here. A couple of you wanted to know if I sell anywhere. I currently do not. I ended up closing down my store a little while ago and now I am kind of enjoying the break! I certainly haven't eliminated the possibility of selling in another store in the future, but being busy with my home and the baby coming, I don't think right now is a good time to start, for me. If you have requests, please feel free to leave them in the comments and as time permits I will get to them. How's that for a deal? Thanks to everyone for their interest, though!

The Holidays are Over

Ok! Ok! So I just have to remind myself that yes... the Holidays are all over, and now I have to get back into the swing of things. Back to the routine of everyday life. I've been slacking terribly with the blog... mostly because by the time I get home from a 12 hour shift, I am completely worn out and barely have the energy to spend a short time with my Husband before flopping into bed. Then on my days off, the cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping etc needs to be done and time gets away from me.

I kind of feel bad after reading my comments. I tend to whine and complain about all of the negative parts of being pregnant, not ever even thinking of those caught in the cycle of infertility. I desperately hope that my dry, sarcastic humor does not offend those in this situation. I know we have been very blessed. Even when it's not something that you plan, I still believe a child is a gift.

Now back to Digital Scrapbooking! I am hoping to have the time this week to sling together the rest of "We're Pregnant" so that I can finally pass it all on to you guys. Thanks for having such patience with me; I know this is dragging out.
